The Brickies Have Started Again!

Another delivery of bricks arrived yesterday.

And more exciting news the brickies were back today. They have moved alot of bricks today & started laying more bricks :)

I'm just a little worried the sand is not the same colour as the first load. It doesn't look as white to me.

UPDATE 20/2/15

A lot has happened in the last few days. Every day it's exciting to see the progress.

The mortar has dried from the first day of using the new load of sand & it looks off white. So I needn't have stressed so much.

UPDATE 24/2/15

The bricks are so close to being finished. Only a little bit out the front, a bit on one side & under the windows & that's it.

I can't wait to see it finished with clean bricks & the scaffold down. I didn't get any photos yesterday because I left my phone at work.

Our kids are getting just a little excited. 

We have a roof!

I went past yesterday & they had put the sarking on & all the roof tiles in piles on the roof ready to be laid. 

And today our roof was laid. It is looking really good. I only wished I had of convinced Rob into upgrading to terracotta roof tiles.

We are hoping the rest of the bricks will be delivered early next week & we see the brickies return.

Update On Bricks

I was happy to see more progress on Monday & Tuesday but it now looks like there are no more bricks left & the brickies have moved on to another house down the road. 

The fascias & gutters have been delivered. Our ss said they would be starting on that while waiting for more bricks.

The electrician has also been to pre wire the columns on the front porch.

We forgot to add a few things to our electrical plan & I have contacted both Allworth & P & N Rogers & both are giving me the run around telling me I need to go through the other company. I spoke to a manager at Allworth & they will contact P & N Rogers & contact me tomorrow. Hopefully I can add the extras, I'm only wanting to pay them more lol. Anyway I'll have to wait & see if I get a call back tomorrow.

UPDATE 5/2/15

No call from Allworth or P & N Rogers today. I was snowed under at work. I'll have to call them tomorrow. 

We now have fascias & gutters upstairs.

UPDATE 10/2/15

Not much to update really. Nothing has happened since they did the gutters & fascia. 

We finally got the extra electrical sorted today after accepting to pay the fee. Both companies are still saying its the others charge. The thing is I did not question the charge. I just wanted an answer if I could add to the electrical plan.

I did not get a return call from the manager at Allworth. So I called P & N Rogers on Friday & was waiting for a call from the manager there who also did not call back. I called again on Monday & I finally got a return call in the afternoon (not from a manager) telling me I could add to the electrical plan as long as I agreed to pay the fee from Allworth. It would have been so much easier if I could of dealt directly with P & N Rogers for the extra work. 

I also spoke to Ample Air last week to upgrade our air conditioner. Which was very easy we added 2 extra zones, upgraded to a daikin inverter 8hp, 21kw & put an extra outlet in the great room.

I went past today & the roof tiles have been delivered, hopefully work will start on the roof tomorrow.
